About
Maria Biardzka is an editorial and fashion photographer based in Zurich, working internationally. Her practice sits at the intersection of fashion and cinema. She has been an accredited photographer at the Cannes Film Festival since 2021 and shoots regularly at the Paris, Milan, London, Copenhagen, and Tokyo fashion weeks, as well as at the Venice Film Festival and other cultural events.
She collaborates with magazines on editorials and with brands on campaigns, and writes fashion features and artist interviews. Alongside her photography, she has on-set acting experience in film and television and a continuing interest in movie stills.
Photography is a parallel practice to her primary profession in quantitative finance. A CFA charterholder, Maria has more than eight years' experience designing and running systematic trading strategies across FX, equities, fixed income, and commodities, most recently at an institutional asset manager in Switzerland.
